Checkout delivery options sync with Shopify Markets
Shopify is moving shipping settings from shipping profiles and zones to Markets. Stores are upgraded gradually from 1 October 2026, and every store will be on the new setup by 1 July 2027. If your store already uses shipping options in Markets, this guide explains how to set up Checkout delivery options sync.
Quick check: is my store on the new setup?
In the Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery. If you see Shipping has moved to Markets, follow this guide. Otherwise, follow the main Checkout delivery options sync guide.

Before you start, activate the Shopify Function as described in Step 1 of the main guide. Once your shipping options are set up, go back to Step 5 of the main guide to hide Shopify's built-in delivery options.
Step 1 – Add the Buunto shipping options to your market
- In the Shopify admin, go to Markets and open the market you deliver to (for example United States).
- Next to Shipping, open the list of shipping options and click Add shipping option.
- Fill in the shipping option:
- Name: exactly
BUUNTO_LOCAL_DELIVERYfor local delivery, orBUUNTO_STORE_PICKUPfor store pickup - Rate type: Flat, or Order amount if the price depends on the cart value
- Price: what you charge, or 0 if it's free
- Transit time: Shopify requires a value. Choose None.
- Conditions: keep All products and every location under Ships from
- Name: exactly
- Click Done, then Save.

Add the options to every market where you offer local delivery or store pickup. A market that inherits its shipping from a parent market uses the parent market's options, so add them to the parent market.
Once saved, the Buunto options are listed with your other shipping options in the market:

The exact names to use are listed in Buunto under Settings > Validation and advanced settings > Checkout delivery options sync > Show instructions:

Tip: You only need the options for the delivery methods you use in Buunto. At checkout, these technical names are replaced with the customer's delivery selection.
Step 2 – (Optional) Set different prices per location or delivery area
To charge a different price for a location or a postcode checker delivery area, add a separate shipping option for it, using the exact name shown in Buunto:
BUUNTO_LOCAL_DELIVERY_<locationId>for a local delivery locationBUUNTO_STORE_PICKUP_<locationId>for a pickup locationBUUNTO_DELIVERY_AREA_<areaId>for a delivery area
Buunto picks the option that matches the location or area the customer chose. Locations and areas without their own option fall back to BUUNTO_LOCAL_DELIVERY or BUUNTO_STORE_PICKUP , in the same order as described in the main guide.
In the example above, delivery to Manhattan costs $7, delivery to Brooklyn $12, delivery from My Custom Location $20, and everything else uses BUUNTO_LOCAL_DELIVERY at $5.
Don't use "Ships from" rates to price Buunto locations
In Markets, a shipping option can contain several rates, each limited to the locations it ships from. Don't use this to set prices per Buunto location. Shopify picks the rate based on the location that fulfills the order, not the location the customer chose in Buunto, and charges the highest rate when several match. With the setup below, a customer who chooses My Custom Location in Buunto still pays $5 when the order ships from New York.

Use separate shipping options, as described above, instead.
Step 3 – Check your setup in Buunto
In Buunto, go to Settings > Locations. Each location and delivery area shows the shipping option Buunto found in your markets and its price. If an option is missing, Buunto shows a warning with the name to add.

Step 4 – Test the checkout
Add a product to the cart, choose a date in Buunto and go to the checkout with an address in your delivery area. The Buunto option is replaced with the customer's selection and its price:

Tip: To show only Buunto's date and time at checkout, set Transit time to None on every Buunto shipping option, and set Settings > Shipping and delivery > Estimated delivery dates > Delivery estimates to Off. Otherwise, Shopify adds its own delivery estimate under the option, such as a date range or "Ships next business day".
The delivery estimates setting applies to all your shipping options. Shopify also shows a "Not showing transit time may impact conversion at checkout" warning on options without a transit time. You can ignore it for Buunto options.

Deactivating the feature
Before you deactivate Checkout delivery options sync in Buunto, remove every Buunto shipping option (BUUNTO_LOCAL_DELIVERY , BUUNTO_STORE_PICKUP , and any BUUNTO_LOCAL_DELIVERY_<locationId> , BUUNTO_STORE_PICKUP_<locationId> or BUUNTO_DELIVERY_AREA_<areaId> options) from the Shipping section of each market. Otherwise, customers will see their technical names at checkout.
FAQ
Do I need to add the options to every market?
Only to the markets where you offer local delivery or store pickup. Customers in other markets don't see the Buunto options.
