Show the chosen date/time on the Thank you page after the checkout using app block

This document explains step by step how to show the chosen date/time on the new Order Confirmation page (a.k.a. the "Thank you" page) just after the checkout if you are using Shopify's Checkout Extensibility.

Note 1: This will only work if the date picker is set to show on the cart page. Unfortunately, it won't work if the date picker is set to show on the product page.

Note 2: If you are not using the new Shopify's Checkout Extensibility, feel free to follow the instructions here.

To achieve this, you need to follow the steps below:

1. Go to your Shopify Admin > Online store > Themes > Customize. From the dropdown, select "Checkout and new customer account"

2. Click again on the dropdown and then click on "Thank you"

   

3. Add our App block. Then click "Save". At that point, no preview is shown on the editor page because we don't have any attributes, but it will work when making a test order.

4. Repeat the previous stage but for the Order status page (a.k.a. new custom account order page)

After making a test order, you should see the selection on the Thank you page, to which you're redirected after making the order (edited)

When clicking the link on the order confirmation email (for example), you should see the following on the Order status page:
