Order cutoff

The order cutoff rules allow you to define the limit between the first available date and the last available date depending on the day the order is made.

In the example above, the First available date is "1 day" and the Cut off time is "18:00". It means that when making the order before the "18:00" cutoff time, the first available date will be at least "1 day" from now. When making the order after the "18:00" cut-off time, the first available date will be an extra day further, so 2 days from now.

The Last available date is "90 days". It means that when making an order, the last available date won't be more than 90 days from now.

Adding exceptions

You can add an exception to the cut-off configuration for specific days. For example, if the available days are from Monday to Friday. You could define the rule so that if an order is made on Monday or Tuesday the first available date will be Monday of the following week, and if an order is made on any other day; the first available date will be on Monday the week after next.

To achieve this we need to add an exception for each day of the week and adjust the First available date settings for each day.

You can add an exception by using the Add exception button.

This adds an exception for Monday.

Repeat the above to define an exception for each day with the following First available date set-up.

  • Monday: 7 days
  • Tuesday: 6 days
  • Wednesday: 12 days
  • Thursday: 11 days
  • Friday: 10 days
  • Saturday: 9 days
  • Any other day (so, Sunday): 8 days

Further options

We have designed a few options which deal with some common cases.

Check the option above if, for example, you don't want weekends to count towards the order preparation time. Let's say your available days are from Monday to Friday and the First available date is set to 3 days.

If your customer orders on a Friday:

  • When the option is unchecked the first available date will be Monday.
  • When the option is checked the first available date will be Wednesday.

The option above modifies the behaviour of the cutoff time when the following days are unavailable days. Let's say your available days are from Monday to Friday, the First available date is set to 1 day and the cut-off time is 15:00.

With the option unchecked:

  • If the customer visits your shop on Friday before 15:00, the first available date will be Monday
  • If the customer visits your shop on a Friday after 15:00, the first available date will be Monday

The cut-off time appears ineffective because Saturday and Sunday are unavailable. If you want the cut-off time to still apply on Monday, you can check the option, then:

  • If the customer visits your shop on a Friday before 15:00, the first available date will be Monday
  • If the customer visits your shop on a Friday after 15:00, the first available date will be Tuesday
